FACTS ON ADOPTING

We have invested much time, love and funds getting our rescues ready for new homes.  Our adoption  fee does not reflect this, but rather how we feel about getting these horses a good home. Our adoption fees are low, depending on the age and amount of training.

Our horses remain our property, however after 5 years of good care and dedication to the horse, the adopter may request permanent ownership. The Board of Directors will vote on this.

First time horse owners are required to go through a 6 month probationary  period before final adoption. The horse must remain at our facility and a lease fee will be paid monthly. The Board of Directors will vote on off property leasing , if requested, by first time horse owners if they have their own barn and property for the horse.

We will offer a pre-adoption lease to anyone who would like to make sure they and the horse are a good fit. There is no off site lease fee, however the lessee will be responsible for all care and feeding of the horse.

All adopters will sign a written adoption contract with Angels Haven Horse Rescue Inc.

HELPING  A HORSE

If you own a horse that needs a new home, or know of an abused horse, please contact us. We network with other organizations and can help you find a good and loving home for your horse.  If you know of a horse that is suffering, please let us know and we will work diligently to get that horse into our care or provide food for the horse until we can.

NO ONE will ever know who reported a horse that is in need and we will never judge the owner, our energy is not spent on anger but rather helping every horse we can help,  become healthy and adoptable. 

We are not an investigating humane agency, we have no contact with the court system . We exist to make the lives of abused and neglected horses worth something. If we can change the life of an abused horse by educating the owner or purchasing the horse, our mission will be met. There are many good investigating humane organizations fighting this battle in the courts, but sadly the abused horse may die before it is helped.

GENERAL INFORMATION

     OUR FOSTER PROGRAM

If you have room in your barn and room in your heart to work with an abused horse, please consider becoming a foster home for our horses waiting to become adoptable. We will supply the necessary food and medical treatment while the horse is adjusting to a good life and becoming healthy again. If you are interested please contact us.

               LEASING PROGRAM

While our horses are waiting to be adopted they are also available for lease. If you have the required space for one of our horses you may lease it at your property for no fee. You will be responsible for all  routine care and feeding of the horse. If you would like an on site lease then you will pay the normal fee charged at the barn where the horse is located.
